Our Lady of the Rosary
Today is a good day to pray a rosary for our nation. Intercession through the rosary was credited with winning a naval battle in 1571 - that's the orign of this feast. Let's ask Our Lady to intercede for the upcoming elections and for the conversion of our country.

St. Jerome
"Whoever is ignorant of the Scriptures is ignorant of Christ." Who hasn't heard this quote from St. Jerome? In the meditation for his feast day yesterday in the Magnificat, he is also quoted as saying, "Let us submit ourselves to his guidance and sovereign direction; let us come to him that he may forgive us, cleanse us, change us, guide us, and save us." That's exactly what we do when we pray and meditate on scripture as St. Ignatius taught. It is a great description of the upcoming Ignatian Prayer Session.

Novena to the Holy Spirit
"Wait for the promise of the Father...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:5,6
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
