THE PROPHECY OF SIMEON.
Simeon, inspired by the Holy Spirit, met Joseph and Mary in the temple and foretold the great sufferings of Jesus and Mary: that a sword would pierce her heart.

THE FLIGHT INTO EGYPT
Warned by an angel in a dream, Joseph took Mary and the Child Jesus and fled to Egypt - the land of Israel's long exile.

THE LOSS OF THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE
What must it have been like to lose the Son of God for three days?

MARY MEETS JESUS CARRYING HIS CROSS
Mary meets Jesus carrying His cross on the way to Calvary.
Hail Mary...

THE CRUCIFIXION
Mary stood faithfully with Jesus to the end. It is here that Jesus gave her to us "Behold thy mother."

MARY RECEIVED THE BODY OF JESUS FROM THE CROSS
What more can be said? Unimaginable grief.

THE BODY OF JESUS IS PLACED IN A TOMB
It is finished.

Novena to the Holy Spirit

"Wait for the promise of the Father...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:5,6

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
