Hunger for Holiness

Grace for week 2: Pray for the grace to make straight his paths.
Reading for Saturday: Zechariah 2:14-17

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Pope John Paul II asked her to "intercede with the Lord that He may instill a hunger for holiness in the whole people of God."

"When we are examining our consciences, our aim is to discover whether that day we have fulfilled the will of God and carried out what was expected of us, or whether we have followed our own will...We have to see if we filled the day with the love of God, or if, unhappily, we have let it remain empty for all eternity."

Novena to the Holy Spirit

"Wait for the promise of the Father...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:5,6

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
