The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

"Her soul was the space from which God was able to gain access into humanity." (Pope Benedict XVI - quoted in Magnificat, p. 106)

"From the flesh of a lowly, unnoticed daughter of Israel, a people small and unimportant in the vast stretches of the Roman Empire, was born the One who would deliver the entire world from the bondage of sin and reign for ever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords." --from Magificat, p. 113

"Mary, my Mother, teach me to live hidden with you in the shadow of God." (from Divine Intimacy, p. 1152)

Mary's humility is such that even her birthday is focused on her Son.

Novena to the Holy Spirit

"Wait for the promise of the Father...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." Acts 1:5,6

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
